Event Details
The Studios of Cocoa Beach is offering Introduction to Stained Glass class taught by Jamille Haddad. The three session class meets on Wednesday evenings, March 11,18, and 25 from 6 to 8 pm. Jamille will take you through the entire process of creating a stained glass work of art! The first week will focus on glass-cutting techniques, choosing design (several options!) and selecting colors. Week Two will involve cutting the glass for the project, and an introduction to the copper foil technique. During the third week, students will finish cutting and foiling their projects, and prepare for soldering.
Jamille Haddad has been designing and producing stained glass and fused glass art in the central Florida area for over 40 years. "My work is more spiritual than political and usually has themes for the work based on my feelings of spirituality. I strive for beautiful craftsmanship while pushing the material to its limits in creating art to enhance our living and working environments."
Fee for the workshop is $150 plus a $50 supply fee. The fee covers all necessary materials.
Student should wear closed-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hair tied back. For more information about the workshop content, contact Jamille at 407-718-3304 or heatwaveglass@cfl.rr.com.
The Class will be held at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. REGISTER ONLINE at studiosofcocoabeach.org.
