Three Artists Before the School Bell Rings An Exhibition of Art Christine Velez Stone, Raquel Brown & Christopher Sweeney
Event Details
The August Exhibition, Before the School Bell Rings, runs Tuesday, August 6 through Sunday, September 1. A reception for the exhibit is on Friday, August 9 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Enjoy their unique creations at the Studios of Cocoa Beach.
It is not the first time Christine Velez Stone exhibits her works in the Studios. Her large bold acrylics are imaginative, unique and impressive. Christine holds a degree in Visual Arts from Berkshire Community College in Massachusetts and studied Art and Design at La Academia Superior de Arte in Medellin, Colombia. Her studios led to work as a designer and painter including murals, trompe l’oeil, faux finishes and set design for theater groups. She has exhibited her work throughout Florida, often earning awards.
It is Raquel Brown’s first exhibition in a gallery venue. She titles her exhibition, Anime Chiller in homage to the style that is so popular with her generation.
She was born Melbourne, Florida and now resides in Grant with her family.
At Odyssey Jr. Sr. High School in Palm Bay, FL she studied art for two years in their Advanced Art program until she graduated in 2023. She also takes online art classes at University of Tokyo and High Tech High Graduate School of Education.
Raquel shares, “Since I was a little girl I drew all the time. Most people in school knew me from my art and I placed in a variety of art shows. For my future I imagine myself freelancing on commission and having a recognizable artistic style.”
Christopher Sweeney, better known as XoSweeneyArt, is a contemporary street artist. He is known for his large colorful murals often featuring his signature images of stretching Hearts or his XoRobot character. His canvas work has influences from pop artists like Andy Warhol, and Keith Haring and includes a touch of street art and graffiti.
Christopher is a published artist and illustrator with two children's books and ten original coloring books. His work can be seen all over the east coast from Brooklyn NY south to Miami.
