The entire project is based on Artistic Director Elena Shokhina’s vision to create a high-caliber production using dancers from the youth company – which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Brevard Ballet Academy – along with academy students and visiting professional dancers.

Elena's exceptional leadership comes from years of training at the world-famous Vaganova Ballet Academy in Russia and her 16-year career as a principal dancer in both the United States and Russia.
