Description
Prior to meeting, Tess and Erin were each struggling with their sons' deployment to war. A mutual friend, who volunteered with Homes for Our Troops , recruited both women to help build a disabled veteran a home in Orlando. After their initial meeting, Tess and Erin relied on each other for support to cope with the uncertainty of their sons fighting for our freedom overseas. Through the years of ups and downs and countless letters and care packages sent, each mom was blessed to have her son return home.
Instead of finally moving on from the emotionally draining involvement with war, Tess and Erin decided they wanted to make sure no soldier was forgotten while overseas and formed OASIS as a means to give back.
"My son told me that not everyone in his company received care packages and that's just sad. You really don't know everyone's story; one soldier could be an orphan or from a family that can't afford to send anything. The idea of someone being forgotten was our motivation to send care packages and inspirational letters through OASIS."- Tess
