Viera del Mar Health and Rehabilitation Center

Viera del Mar is truly the worst run Health and Rehabilitation center in the area. They state that their patient's needs are their number one priority and that “No matter the patient's needs, they are committed to helping you or your loved ones achieve the highest level of independence and health” which could not be further from the truth. Their one and only priority is keeping their facility full at any cost to your family's health or well being. My 80-year-old Mom needed some rehab to help her knee heal after she hurt her knee. Unfortunately, within 24 hours of arriving at this center, we had a family emergency that needed my Mom’s immediate attention. When I made the staff aware of this family emergency, my Mom asked me if I would take her to handle this unforeseen problem which would have taken only about 1 hour to resolve when Rachael Mazer (the administrator of this facility ) informed my Mom and I that my Mom was not allowed to leave the building. I was flabbergasted by Rachael Mazer’s response and complete insensitivity to my Mom’s predicament. My Mom began to cry uncontrollably which made me sick to my stomach. Then I told Rachael Mazer that I want to immediately discha
