Permanently Closed.. The Foosaner Art Museum is located along the Indian River in the Eau Gallie Arts District. We are a gathering place, a catalyst for change, and a center of creativity. The Museum collects, displays, and interprets all aspects of the visual arts in ways that relate to the past, the present, and to the future.
The Foosaner Art Museum of Florida Institute of Technology seeks to stimulate thought, inspire creativity and enrich the community by offering diverse, high-quality visual arts exhibitions and educational programs, and by augmenting, preserving, and presenting its world-class permanent collection.
The heart of an art museum is its permanent collection, held in the public trust and preserving works of art that project artistic and historical significance. Since opening in 1978 the Foosaner Art Museum has amassed over 5,000 objects, spanning 20 centuries. These items form the Museum’s Permanent Collection, reflecting not only the Museum’s interests and specialties, but also the lives of the people who have lived in the community.
Throughout the year, visitors can experience a changing selection of exhibitions. Rotating exhibitions of nationally and internationally recognized artists showcase contemporary trends and historical art movements as do the variety of exhibitions created from the Museum’s permanent collection.
